Listen to The Byson’s New Song “Kathmandu”
The Melted Igloo is excited to announce our first official release as a collective. The Bysons debut single “Kathmandu” is available now on all streaming platforms.
The song was conceived by The Bysons during their travels around Asia, going up to Kathmandu to be specific. Inspiration came from Kathmandu’s history as a haven for travelers back in the 1960s and 1970s. Mike learned about this rich history during his time there and found that the city has maintained all its beautiful energy since then. He developed a deep love for Kathmandu and the entire country of Nepal. It’s no wonder that Kathmandu has been the subject for other musicians, such as Cat Stevens and Bob Seger.
“Kathmandu” was recorded at the original Melted Igloo location in Austin, TX with the help of other members of the collective. It was written and produced by The Bysons and features Jay Es on guitar. The cover art for Kathmandu is a photograph of a street scene in Kathmandu taken by Mike in 2023.
